Responses to a Shortage of Face Masks
Mass production of face masks has been fully operated domestically in response to growing demand sparked by the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, these masks are manufactured with priority given to those who are involved at medical or long term care facilities.
Due to that, local residents find difficult to obtain them.
At GMEC, we had knowledge sharing of how to make a simple face mask using a handkerchief and two elastic hair ties.
As same as hand-made face masks, this simple mask is “washable”, “reusable”, and “can be sterilised by ironing”.
We will keep raising our awareness of “times of emergency”!!
